An eau de toilette contains more perfume oil than the aftershave, this higher concentration means that if you put it on post-shaving, your skin is likely to turn blotchy and red. However, an eau de toilette is stronger smelling so you will tend to use less and lasts around six to eight hours.

Aftershave contains less perfume oil (around one to four per cent), the weaker oil concentration here is perfect for post-shaving, but as a result will only last around three hours.
